SWAG.

In celebration of Cleaner Science's first birthday and launching the new website, Cleaner Science is going to be giving away some free soap!
Since we've now been doing this generic, random, everyone-has-the-same-chance giveaway style on Facebook for a while - a.k.a. Sara's in pharmacy school and doesn't want to think up creative giveaway ideas - I thought it would be interesting to let you guys post your ideas for future giveaways!


So... all you need to do is:


Leave a comment here with your idea for a future Cleaner Science soap giveaway under this blog entry
Some tips:
-Creativity counts!  I want to hear the craziest (and yet practical :) ) ideas you guys can think of for a giveaway.
-The more tailored to Cleaner Science, the better.  
-There's no limit on entries.  Got two, three, four ideas?  Post them... there's no limit to the number of times you can enter, but... sorry guys, you can only win once.




The top three ideas will be chosen on Monday, January 24th, and the three winning ideas will be used for the next three soap giveaways!

    how about "make your own petri dish" - in the medium of the maker's choice, ie: knitting, painting, ceramics, etc.

    post some pictures of 'dirty' things around the home, then have people guess which is actually dirtiest (number of CFUs per petri dish?)

    guess what the soap that is being given away smells like? mostly because the idea of smelling a petri dish filled with e coli makes me giggle. especially since i know what a petri dish filled with e coli smells like. a hint would probably be helpful for this one.

    Have people describe their worst encounter with bacteria. Kind of gross but could be fun. A 'well I was more ill than you' type contest :-p

    Have people send in pictures of the nastiest things growing in their refrigerator. Extra credit for actually being able to name that mold.

    Have people take pictures of their CLEANER SCIENCE soap in extreme places!! (ie. filthy roomate's room, dorm shower, trunk of their SUV ha ha OR spic and span countertop, tidy sink...)

    Have people take pics of themselves to prove how nerdy they are. Clothing, accessories, toys, art, soap... And post the pics on your site! :3

    Have people design new color patterns. They could draw them and send them in. Or have them suggest knew scents.

    Bake goodies shaped like your favorite bacteria. Cakes, brownies, fudge etc... Take pics and send it in.

    Make an informational video on your favorite bacteria to be posted on the site.

    Design (or find) ways to advertise the site in your daily life. Post an ad in your school paper, make a t-shirt, bumper sticker, color your binder, etc. The person who best advertises or comes up with the best advertising idea wins.

    holiday themed contests. microbe pumpkin carving contest, microbe valentines day card contest, microbe christmas ornament contest... :D

    A bacteria/microorganism plate streaking contest~ whoever comes up with the most creative design wins! (and will contribute to potential future soap designs! :D)

    (this one maybe lab specific though...) get people to draw pictures on the petri dishes with bacteria culture...

    (for those not in the lab) draw pictures with icing or other crafty things on agar/petri dish like plates~

    Film some YouTube videos about bacteria, microbiology, or soap. Keep them really short and sweet. Post them on youtube, embed them on your blog.

    Limerick contest! You could require that a particular bacterium is referenced, or maybe just a general prompt of science-y, microbiological, or lab life topics.
